Reposted from @graham_o_brien Very busy routine these days and it’s hard to find the time to fit in proper recovery after sessions. When I do, the muscle baller from @backballer is a massive help. Fits in your bag and allows you to fit in some good recovery. 15 mins on this and you’ll feel fresh.
Something I’ll be doing over the next while is giving an insight into my routine and how I’m fitting in training in order to be half decent for the start of the season in March when A1 racing kicks off. I’m not expecting anything. It’ll be June by the time I can really start to mix it up.
It goes something like this:
• Up 7am - Train for an hour
• College + Assignments 9am-4pm Mon-Thurs
• Coaching @zndcoaching 4-5pm
• Work AIT Sport 5-10pm
• Dinner 10:15-10:30pm
• Coaching 10:30-11pm
• Assignments 11-12pm
So being flexible with training and coaching is extremely important. Unlike when I was full-time, cycling cannot always be my priority now, which I find is healthier. If I’ve a free hour or two from a lecture then I’ll head straight for the gym or bike and respond to clients. The weekend then is where I look to do the majority of my endurance training and fit time in for some rest. Main thing is I’m enjoying the lifestyle.
It’s great to be back in competition mode after almost 4 years away 🚴🏼
